Skills learned in Carpentry include building techniques, estimating, blueprint reading, cabinet construction, building construction, interior wall finish and trim, and residential wiring.

Career possibilities include:

  • Residential and Commercial Construction Worker
  • Roofer
  • Cabinetmaker
  • Sales Representative
  • Estimator
  • Electrician

With additional education:

  • Architect
To be successful in this program, you should:
  • Have good coordination.
  • Use math skills for measuring and cutting.
  • Enjoy working outdoors.
  • Be in good physical condition.

The Apollo House

Carpentry

Every year students in the Carpentry program work together to build the Apollo House. This year, the Apollo House is located at 5067 Shoshone Trail, in the Indianbrook subdivision, Shawnee, off of S. Wapak Rd. and just north of S.R. 117.
