February Campus News

Greetings from the Apollo campus,

Typically, when launching a new program, enrollment starts slowly as it takes time for students, parents, and others to connect the program to its related career path. I am excited to share that the new program Criminal Justice has exceeded capacity for Initial applications with ample time remaining for additional applicants. This is great news for law enforcement careers and the communities in our region.

The High School program will share space with the Adult Education Basic Police Academy, which is offered in the evenings and managed by Commander John Bishop.

Anthony Swygart is the new instructor for Criminal Justice. Tony has over 37 years of experience as a law enforcement professional in a wide variety of roles and responsibilities. Over 25 years as either a supervisor or command-level leader and 10 years of university policing.

His greatest pleasure is interacting with young people and helping make them ready for the next chapter of their lives which he has done at Ohio State Lima as campus security, as an Apollo teaching assistant, and now as the first High School Criminal Justice instructor.

Save the Date

March 27 – Allen County College Fair

April 10 – APOLLOpalooza ‘25

Sincerely,

Keith Horner, Superintendent
Apollo Career Center
