Summer 2024

Greetings from Apollo Career Center

Even though it’s summer, the campus is busy!

  • The Maintenance and Technology staff are always busy in the summer preparing for the upcoming school year and supporting all the activities that are scheduled on campus during the summer.

  • Apollo hosted the Business Advisory Council’s Education on Location BootCamp. Fifteen local teachers visited business and industry to see all the amazing employment opportunities that students have in the Lima/Allen County region.

  • Over 100 middle schoolers attended Apollo’s Career Camp for two days full of hands-on activities. The campers had a great time experiencing Career Technical Education.

  • The Allen County CDL Exam Center is open at 3565 Shawnee Road. It is operating under the umbrella of Apollo Career Center in the former DOT’S Pet Center building.

  • The Public Safety Training Center is progressing quickly. This addition to our facilities is 27,000 square feet and will house Fire/EMT, Truck Driving and the Police Academy. It is expected to be complete in early 2025.

  • Adult Education courses are offered year-round and the High School is preparing for over 900 juniors and seniors to start classes August 21.

We work hard to live our vision of preparing students to be next ready to have a positive impact in our community. However, this would not be possible without the amazing support we get from the Apollo community and its business and industry partners.

I hope you enjoy the remaining days of summer.

Sincerely,
